Is America a Christian Nation? Print
Written by Fayette Crapo

Look around you; chances are good (over 90% of Americans) the people next to you believe in God and most of them (78% of all Americans) believe in a Christian God. Looking at some of the stats just published by Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life it seems that indeed we are a Godly nation, if not a Christian. Looking a little deeper should bring a sense of great fear to a true Bible believing Christian, fear for the very soul of the nation.

Check your core beliefs and answer these questions for your self.

Is it at all possible that there is no God?
Is there more than one way to eternal life?
Is there more than one true way to interpret the Bible?

Believe it or not, most people would answer yes to some of those questions. Not just most people, but most “Christians.” According to the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life study of more than 35,000 Americans 70% of them, believe many religions can lead to eternal life. Even among Christian churches the lowest percentage is 57%. Nearly 80% of Catholics say many religions can lead to eternal life.

An Audience of One is here to say that Jesus said:

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, you will know my Father also." ( John 14:6-7)

Luke 18 verses 18-30              “A ruler questioned Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. “You know the commandments, ‘DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER.’” And he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.” When Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” But when he had heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich. And Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God! “For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” They who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?” But He said, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.” Peter said, “Behold, we have left our own homes and followed You.” And He said to them, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who will not receive many times as much at this time and in the age to come, eternal life.”

Clearly if you hold onto your wealth, you cannot hold Jesus too. If the rich ruler had given away all that he had, he would still need to follow Jesus. This concept is re-enforced by Peter who said they were following Jesus.

I could quote scripture ‘till the second coming, but when Christians deny that the Bible is absolute, we are in serious trouble. It is important that we do not condemn one another so instead of using terms like true Christians, I think of them as those that have been deceived or yet to have / accept revelation knowledge of who Jesus is.

You can down load the study here and read it for your self. Take this knowledge with you into prayer and ask God to heal the nation. Ask Him to give you chance to join the battle to beat back these lies and misperceptions of His Identity. And let us all get more into the word so that we ourselves do not become deceived. No one is exempt from stumbling, but thru a health faith and knowledge of God through His word.

Jesus Asked Peter, Who Do you say I am? That is key, Who do you say He is? Who you say Jesus is defines the Jesus you believe in. There is only One Jesus that will bring you to eternal life with God. If your Jesus say's a gay life style is ok it is not the same Jesus that saves. If your Jesus say's pre-marital relations are ok it is not the same Jesus that saves. If your Jesus say's living a “good” life is all that I ask, it is not the same Jesus that saves. Who you say Jesus is defines the Jesus you believe in and therefore determines the Jesus that knows you. If you are not Known by the Son Of God Jesus you are doomed and with out hope.
